Ode to Families

In our life, we meet many people and we also make many new friends. But one of our first friends are our parents and family. Our families have been with us ever since we came onto this Earth and we have gotten their undying support and infinite love ever since. Families are one of the greatest gifts anyone could get. There may be a few people who may say that their families don't spend enough time together. Due to this, people start feeling quite sad and feel lonely. But, we forget about the fact that our families try their best to spend sometime with us, but they are not able to do so because of their busy schedules. Although this fact may be hard to remember, we should at least try to appreciate what our families try to do for us. Our families never show how much they love us, for their love is infinite and it has no end.  So, please remember that no matter what happens, your family loves you, even if they don't show it. They'll never leave your side and will always stay ...

Venus Moon Conjunction

Image
https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/resources/2276/venus-moon-and-jupiter/ The phenomenon in which a planet and the Moon or a planet and a star appear to be close to one another in the night sky is called a conjunction. In fact, this beautiful scene is a picture of the Venus and Moon conjunction on 23 April, 2023. This conjunction takes place every 13 months and is clearly visible as long as the weather is clear. This phenomenon also has another meaning in astrology that is related to Vedic astrology.  In Vedic astrology, it is said that the Moon and Venus have a feminine nature. When their energies are parallel, they make salient features of life such as domestic life and marriage successful.  The Venus Moon conjunction is an extremely beautiful phenomenon and anyone who views this phenomenon will be amazed by its splendor.

Purnima

Image
On seeing a full moon, some may ignore it while some may appreciate it. I used to ignore this before, but once I gained some information on its importance, I started to appreciate it much more than before.  The full moon is also called Purnima  in the ancient language of Sanskrit. Purnima  or the full moon occurs once every month and on this day, the Moon is in an exact straight line with the Sun and the Earth  This formation is known as a syzygy (pronounced si-zuh-jee). The full moon causes high tides and can even concur with lunar eclipses. At this time, the moon is the most illuminated and is the brightest as compared to its other phases.  Although the full moon is quite interesting from the geological point of view, did you also know that the full moon has a very special place in Hinduism?  Yes, that's right. There are a number of festivals that take place only during the full moon day. Some of these festivals include Hanuman Jayanti, Holi, Buddha Purni...

Moral values

Image
See this tree? It has fallen down on the ground and has been uprooted. When I saw this, I was quite shocked because I thought the tree would be nicely planted to the ground because of its huge roots. But my supposition was wrong.  Like a tree, we humans also have roots. Except our roots represent where we come from. They also represent our moral values and ethics. For now, let's stick to the moral values.  In life, everyone is taught about morals. We are taught to be kind, forgiving, caring etc. But with time, we get old and we forget our roots. We forget our moral values and trek on the treacherous path of unconsciousness. While going on this path, we unknowingly hurt others and create a bad image of ourselves and our family.  The worst part is that we don't realise this until someone bitterly breaks our unconsciousness. By the time we realise how far we have wandered from our moral values, till then it becomes too late. We have already created a bad image th...

Radha is worshipped as the goddess of love, compassion, tenderness and devotion. She is a manifestation of the Goddess Lakshmi and is seen as the prime consort of Lord Krishna. Additionally, she is also said to be Krishna's female form. Radha and Krishna are therefore inseparable and hence Goddess Radha accompanies Krishna in all of His lifetimes.  During Radha and Krishna's childhood days in Vrindavan, it is said that they both used to meet in it's vast forests and dance throughout the night. Radha is described as a beautiful and attractive maiden whose heart only belonged to Krishna. Despite their true love for each other, they didn't marry each other because of a curse that separated them for 100 years. But this is a highly debated topic as it is also said that Radha a...
